recycling sites

The recycling sites across the district are a very popular way of recycling. However, we are encountering the following problems:

  • Cardboard boxes being left on the ground - please take your cardboard home with you or recycle it (see chart below).
  • If any of the banks are full, please take your recycling home or to another site - do not put it on the ground.
  • Carrier bags that are left at ANY of the static sites go to landfill. Carrier bags can be recycled at all of the Household Waste Recycling Centres.
  • People leaving items such as TV’s, ironing boards, lawn mowers, bathroom suites etc are FLYTIPPING and liable for prosecution.

Paper based liquid food carton recycling sites

Morrisons, Hatfield Road, St Albans; Waitrose, Mayne Avenue, St Albans; The Ridgeway car park, St Albans;

Amenbury Lane car park, Harpenden and Memorial Hall car park, Wheathampstead.

The banks are supplied and emptied through Tetra Pak and the cartons will be recycled within the E.U
