If I put rubbish in my green composting bin or if garden waste or kitchen waste is put in a carrier bag, say, prior to going into the green wheeled bin, will it be collected? Or is it classed as contaminated?
If green waste or kitchen waste is put into plastic carrier bags before it is put in the green bin or if rubbish is put in the green bin; it will be classed as contaminated waste and the bin will not be emptied. Do not therefore use plastic bags, and please put the green waste/kitchen waste straight into the green bin. It is acceptable however to wrap the waste in newspaper/kitchen paper as this can be composted.
