What about the fortnightly collection of disposable nappies or similar clinical waste?
There is a weekly collection of clinical waste & sharps boxes. More information on this service is available via the contact centre on 01727 819285.
Disposable nappies should be wrapped e.g. in a plastic bag and put in the black refuse bin. "Real Nappies" are an environmentally friendly alternative to disposable nappies. Real nappies are made from renewable cotton, cost less overall and create less waste for landfill. A cash back nappy scheme is currently on offer - for further information, please contact our recycling officer, Louise Palmer on 01727 819428 or click on the nappies link.
If it can be demonstrated that additional capacity for disposable nappies is required residents will be provided with nappy sacks which will be collected with the black wheeled bin for fortnightly collections. There is also a weekly collection service of disposable nappies available at a fee of £19.50 for a 6 month supply. For further information please enquire via the customer contact centre on 01727 819285 or wastemanagementservices@stalbans.gov.uk
